The following are exercises that will train the lower body for strength during the skating position and for lower body power output. These exercises can be done 3 times per week in the off-season or twice a week during the in-season for lower body strength maintenance. Force production and postural strength are keys to skating speed and technique. This program will help develop these qualities in a young developing skater and also maintain the strength levels of older hockey players.
